How does the lottery work?

You will receive a 6-digit lottery number when you enter. Every Friday you will be entered into the draw. The winning numbers are chosen at random.

Tickets for the Weekly Lottery are £1 per ticket. You can have up to 10 chances per draw, giving you even more chances to win one of our fantastic prizes.

Prizes are issued and posted to the winner directly; there is no need to claim.

What prizes can I win?

Every week you have the chance to win one of our guaranteed cash prizes of:

  • 1st Prize: £25,000
  • 2nd Prize: £1,000
  • 3rd Prize: £25
  • 4th Prize: 5 entries into the next draw

Can I choose my own lottery numbers?

When you enter the lottery, you will be sent a unique 6-digit number. This number will be chosen at random and will be your number for as long as you play our lottery.

How much does The Brain Tumour Charity make from each £1 played?

For each £1 we raise through the weekly lottery, the charity receives 50p (50%).

The remaining amount is used to cover the prizes offered (18.4%) and administration costs (31.6%).

Why is the price £4.34 per month when paying by Direct Debit?

Each chance in the lottery costs £4.34 a month. This is based on paying £1 a week over a 52-week year.

Your Direct Debit will be collected monthly. Some months will have five weeks and some months will have four. The additional £0.34p will build up credit to cover the months where there are five weeks.

How will I know if I am in the draw?

Within 21 days of signing up you will receive a letter of confirmation, which includes your unique lottery number(s). You will also be given the date you will first be included in the draw.

How will I know if I’ve won?

The draw takes place every Friday. Once it has taken place, winners are notified by post or email.

If you match 4 digits or more, you will be sent your winnings automatically, either directly into your bank (if playing by Direct Debit), or via a cheque sent in the post.

If you match 3 digits you will be sent an email to confirm your win and your temporary 5 prize entry lottery numbers for the following week's draw.

How can The Brain Tumour Charity offer these prizes?

The prizes for our Weekly Lottery are covered by the Unity prize pot. Different charities run their lottery with Unity, and all of our supporters contribute to the prize pot by entering. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. That’s why we can offer a £25,000 jackpot and smaller prizes.

I think I may have a problem with gambling, how can I get help?

How can I self-exclude myself from playing your lotteries and raffles?
